   Time will tell if these units perform as expected, but I get the feeling some of the critical reviews I read are people being a little overly fussy/critical. I installed six of these in about 30 minutes, replacing existing detectors with the same plug. No issues getting them to 'talk' to other units throughout the house, including old (2004) units the previous owner never replaced. I'd recommend these detectors based on my experience so far.

   This was a direct replacement for the 3 hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors that needed to be replaced in my house. I got the exact model and they fit perfectly and had the 3 of them installed in minutes. Remember, the manufacturer states that you should not mix brands since they may not properly interconnect and communicate properly in case of a smoke/carbon monoxide situation. Excellent peace of mind by installing these units.

   I like that this product will detect both CO and smoke. I like that it talks. It is loud. Be careful and follow the instructions to the letter. Do not skip ahead. You might lose the ability to get Alexa integrated of you don't. I am not an electrician and I installed three of them. Turn off the electricity and test all wires in the electrical box to make sure none have power before you start installation. Then follow the installation instructions carefully. Make sure all wires are secure.
